Approve and schedule the project
Once the proposal is approved, Atlas Energy coordinates equipment, permitting, scheduling, and installation as applicable.

Upgrade feasibility depends on the existing system design, equipment compatibility, electrical capacity, roof and site conditions, utility requirements, permitting, manufacturer requirements, and equipment availability. Some projects may require additional evaluation or work by other licensed professionals. Atlas Energy will explain the available options before a proposal is finalized.
Can you upgrade a system installed by another company?
Yes. Atlas Energy evaluates many existing residential solar systems, including systems installed by other companies. Available options depend on the equipment, system design, condition, and access to system information.
Can every solar system add a battery?
Not always. Battery compatibility depends on the existing inverter, electrical system, available space, equipment condition, backup-power goals, and manufacturer requirements. Atlas Energy will review these factors before recommending a solution.
Can you add more panels to my current system?
In some cases. System expansion depends on roof or site space, inverter capacity, electrical capacity, equipment compatibility, utility rules, and permitting requirements.
Do I need a diagnostic before requesting an upgrade?
Not necessarily. Planned upgrade projects begin with an upgrade consultation. If the existing system is showing faults, underperforming, or has unresolved issues, Atlas Energy may recommend a diagnostic before designing the upgrade.
What happens after I submit an upgrade request?
Atlas Energy will review your project goals and available system information to determine the appropriate next step. Depending on the project, we may request additional details or recommend an on-site evaluation before preparing options and pricing.
Do you handle permits and utility approvals?
Permit and utility requirements vary by project. Atlas Energy will explain which approvals are required and what is included in the project proposal.
